ABOUT ME

I am a dedicated therapist with a primary focus on reconstructing and strengthening family dynamics while empowering families to assert their autonomy within a resilient, cohesive family unit. As a trauma-informed therapist, I utilize a psychodynamic approach to assist individuals in uncovering hidden strengths, guide families in embracing unique identities, and facilitate couples in finding common ground within their relationships. My life experiences, coupled with my education, have equipped me with the necessary skills to guide clients on a transformative therapeutic journey.
My journey into social work was driven by a passion for education, believing it held the key to making a meaningful impact, inspired by influential social workers who left a lasting impression on me. Following my undergraduate studies, I initially pursued Journalism but shifted towards social work due to a deep commitment to addressing disparities in education.
My career then led me to teaching at alternative schools in Chicago, where I observed students grappling with trauma. This experience heightened my awareness of the profound impact of mental health on education. Pursuing a Master’s in Social Work from the Erikson Institute, specializing in child law and policy, allowed me to comprehend systemic structures’ unintended adverse impacts.
With extensive experience as a therapist, I offer a distinctive perspective to counseling, having navigated various cultural challenges. Over years of committed counseling practice, my specialization lies in supporting individuals confronting adversity and trauma. My clinical expertise, continuous professional development, and commitment to resilience and personal growth converge to establish a secure and supportive environment for clients. I eagerly anticipate empowering individuals on their path to emotional well-being and self-discovery.
